This 1993 Mazda RX-7 was acquired by the seller in 2007, and the 1.3-liter Wankel rotary was modified with a Garrett single-turbo setup circa 2021. The engine is believed to have produced over 1,000 horsepower on a dynamometer in 2021 following a noted semi-peripheral port, and it utilizes a Pro-Jay Typhoon intake manifold, a Microtech ECU with flex-fuel capability, a water-to-air intercooler, dual blow-off valves, and a Turbosmart PowerGate60 external wastegate. Shifting is through a five-speed manual transmission with an Exedy clutch kit and an aftermarket shifter, and it is joined by a KAAZ limited-slip differential. A carbon-fiber front bumper cover and hood were fitted to the Vintage Red body, and the cabin houses a roll bar, Defi pod gauges, and bucket seats trimmed in tan and black upholstery. Additional details include 18″ aftermarket wheels, KYB struts, and an aftermarket stereo. This modified FD RX-7 is offered with a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
The Vintage Red coupe was fitted with a later-model-style carbon-fiber front bumper cover as well as side skirts and a vented carbon-fiber hood. Additional equipment includes a power sunroof, a rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, and front fender vents. A dent on the right quarter panel and peeling finish along the body are noted, and the rear wiper is missing.

The car rides on 18″ aftermarket wheels secured with extended studs as well as KYB struts and aftermarket adjustable trailing arms and toe links. Braking is provided by four-wheel anti-lock discs with four-piston front calipers and Stoptech slotted and cross-drilled rotors.

The high-backed bucket seats have been re-trimmed in tan and black upholstery, and an auxiliary tank is affixed to a roll bar fitted in the rear cabin. A Simpson driver’s harness, cruise control, and an aftermarket shifter and stereo are additional elements. The seat piping is worn, and the driver’s seat belt is frayed.

A reservoir for the water-to-air intercooler system and a tank for a water/methanol injection kit are housed in the rear cargo area.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a configurable Microtech Dash Logger display with a speedometer, tachometer, and supplementary readouts. Defi gauges for boost pressure, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are affixed to the left A-pillar, and an additional gauge pod is mounted atop the dash. No odometer is present, and total mileage is unknown.

The 1.3-liter Wankel rotary is said to have undergone a semi-peripheral port as part of a build completed in 2021. The following components are noted to have been installed:
- Turblown Engineering 10mm studs
- Wilmeranic 10mm through-bolts
- Additional dowel pins
- Replacement apex seals
- Replacement eccentric shaft
- 7-quart aluminum oil pan
- Pro-Jay Typhoon intake manifold
- Pro-Jay 90mm throttle body
- 2,200cc Bosch fuel injectors
- Aeromotive Eliminator fuel pump & pressure regulator
- Dual MSD ignition amplifiers
- Microtech ECU w/flex-fuel capability
Additional noted modifications are listed in a seller-provided build sheet presented in the gallery.

The single-turbo setup includes a Garrett GTX5533R ball-bearing turbocharger, a Frozen Boost water-to-air intercooler, a Microtech boost controller, dual TiAL blow-off valves, and a Turbosmart PowerGate60 external wastegate with a dump pipe. The 4″ exhaust system utilizes a Flowmaster Hushpower muffler.

Dynamometer test results from October 2021 display a peak output of approximately 1,017 horsepower.

The five-speed manual transmission was fitted with an Exedy triple-disc clutch kit, a Clutch Masters flow-control valve, and a slave cylinder bleeder valve. A KAAZ limited-slip differential is secured with a brace.
