Honda 0 Series SUV exterior and interior

The SUV will be the first of seven models in Honda’s new 0 Series of EVs. It is based on the Space Hub concept that Honda showed at CES 2024. The prototype SUV boasts a very unconventional design with the squared-off rear section lending it an MPV-esque stance. The design is also intended to maximise interior space with the large glass house enhancing visibility. The bodywork is neat, devoid of any sharp lines, likely in the interest of aerodynamic efficiency. A couple of noteworthy design highlights is the U-shaped tail lamp at the rear and the protruding front and rear bumpers that give a layered effect to the car.

Honda has also said all 0 Zero EVs will be a software defined vehicles (SDVs). It will major on technologies such as automated driving, and Honda has developed a brand-new operating system called ASIMO OS which will be defining feature of the 0 Series EVs. It will manage ECUs for vehicle systems, driver aids and in-car infotainment, and support over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Honda 0 Series SUV technical details

Honda has yet to disclose its technical specifications, but has revealed that all 0 Series models will be offered in either RWD or AWD configurations. They’ll feature ultra-thin and light-weight batteries in order to maximise efficiency. The key design philosophy of the 0 Series EV platform is “thin, light and wise”. Speaking to our sister publication Autocar UK, Honda has previously revealed that the 0 Series EV will come with batteries ranging between 80kWh and 100kWh, with estimated range of about 500km.

Honda will be bringing the 0 Series SUV to India as a halo product, showcasing its EV technology. Pricing is anyone’s guess at this point in time, but it will certainly have a premium positioning.
