With a name as vast and unknowable as its musical vision, EximperituserqethhzebibÅ¡iptugakkathÅ¡ulweliarzaxuÅ‚um is now streaming their most ambitious release to date, Meritoriousness of Equanimity. You can also refer to them as Eximperitus if you can’t pronounce that, which I don’t think anyone on this planet can.
Shaped by the experiences of recent years, Meritoriousness of Equanimity fuses the band’s established extremity with elements drawn from outside the genre, creating a record that is as philosophical as it is punishing. Across nine independent compositions, the album is united by a central theme: the search for inner support in an era of turbulence, as the exposure and scourging of social dogmas plays out “on the ruins of the old world.”
The album also answers long-standing questions that have followed Eximperitus since their inception — starting with the band’s famously unpronounceable name. Its pronunciation is finally clarified on the opening title track as: ekz-impéritus-serqét-zebÃb-shiptú-gakkáth-shul-wéliar-záksulum. Helpful!
Beyond phonetics, the record delves into the name’s deeper semantic meaning, described as the inexpressible, unknowable beginning of the dark Absolute and the eternal path to its essence — a concept that mirrors the album’s inward-looking and metaphysical scope.
Meritoriousness of Equanimity also solidifies the current creative force behind the project. The album features vocalist and lyricist PaweÅ‚ Nalecki (ex-Ominous Scriptures), instrumentalist Siarhei Liakh (Relics Of Humanity, ex-Ominous Scriptures), and session drummer Davide “Brutal Dave” Billia (Beheaded, Antropofagus).
