BRAND OF SACRIFICE’s LEO VALERI & FIT FOR A KING’s RYAN O’LEARY Launch Papercut Recordings

Longtime collaborators and creative powerhouses Leo Valeri (Brand of Sacrifice, Shibori Threads) and Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary (Fit For A King, Beacon Management Group) have officially launched Papercut Recordings — a new home for uncompromising artists.

The label is built on one urgent principle: return creative control to the artists. By pairing equitable funding with transparent business practices and lived experience as musicians, Papercut Recordings aims to empower artists through partnership, not exploitation.

“If there’s one thing we’ve seen enough of, it’s seeing new talent get steamrolled,” Valeri and O’Leary said. “Our mission is to return creative control and power to the people who earned it – the artists. We provide fair, transparent funding paired with real-world expertise from people who are metal musicians themselves, living and breathing the scene alongside you. It’s about partnership, respect, and building something authentic together.”

To mark its launch, Papercut Recordings has announced its first two signings:

  • Blackshape – whose shadowy, cerebral blend of post-metal, math rock, and ambient minimalism has earned them a reputation for emotionally brutal, cinematic compositions.
  • Limbs – the Florida-born, northeast-based post-hardcore disruptors known for their ferocious live shows and sharp, emotionally raw songwriting.
