This 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible was refurbished by Flemings Ultimate Garage of Rockville, Maryland, in 2022, and was purchased by the seller in 2024. Work included repainting the body in Azure Blue with black stripes along with reupholstering the blue vinyl interior. It is powered by a 455ci Rocket V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip rear differential, and it rides on 14″ Super Stock III wheels mounted over power front disc brakes. Details include a power-operated blue convertible soft top, a vinyl boot cover, a ram air hood, a rear wing, power steering, a Hurst dual-gate shifter, front bucket seats, an AM/FM radio, power windows, and air conditioning. This 442 convertible is now offered with a build sheet, the manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Azure Blue (20) with a power-operated blue soft top, and the seller tells us the refurbishment in 2022 included repainting the body and re-plating the chrome trim. Details include black stripes on the bodysides and on the ram air hood along with quad T3 headlights, chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, “442” badging, and dual exhaust outlets with trumpet-style finishers. The grilles were replaced in 2024.

Body-matching Super Stock III wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires, and a covered spare is stowed in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering and front and rear sway bars. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The brake master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, seals, front rotors, and pads were replaced in 2024, per the records displayed in the gallery.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in blue vinyl, and lap belts are fitted for all occupants. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, center console, and doors, and appointments include a Hurst dual-gate shifter, an AM/FM radio, power windows, and air conditioning.

The Custom Sport steering wheel fronts Rally Pac instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, and a combination gauge with readouts for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership.

The car is powered by a 455ci Rocket V8 that breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and ram air induction. The fuel tank hoses were replaced in June 2024.

Photos of the engine serial number stamps are provided in the gallery, and the stamps displayed are consistent with the final sequence of the VIN.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission and a limited-slip rear differential. The seller tells us the transmission was overhauled during the refurbishment, and records indicate the seals for the differential and transmission pan were replaced during a fluid service in 2024.
